Decision details

Purchase of mini-bus – To purchase a new or good quality second-hand mini-bus to transport cadets and their equipment/instruments to training course, district, county and countrywide events and community events.  The previous mini-bus broke down in July 2018 and was deemed beyond economical repair and subsequently scrapped. 

To provide funding of £500 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

Sea Cadets provides a safe and stable environment which allows young people to grow and learn, the Sea Cadet experience includes working towards recognised qualifications such as BTECs and Duke of Edinburgh awards.  The Romney Marsh is an area of geographical isolation with extremely poor transport links.  It can be difficult for many cadets to attend training courses and events outside the direct area which may in turn prevent them from reaching their full potential.
