The rec - A drugs box tool for informal education that’s portable.

The Rec is a detached project engaging with hard to reach young people.

We engage young people in team work sports, informal education, we help the young people look for jobs in the park, we engage in topical issues affecting young people, we are there to listen too young people, we sign post young people to other organisations if appropriate.

We are in the park to support young people. The Drug box will allow us to educate the young people on drug awareness and help tackle drug related issues. The purchase of the kit also allows access to an online training and resource centre.

To provide funding of £500 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

We have been engaging in the park for the last 5 years, the young people ask us to come back and are always please to engage in activities, we have support from the community warden, the police and the district council.

The young people in the park don’t engage in other groups that’s why we support them.
