Minutes: The report considered what action should be taken following the suspension of a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence.
Following review of the Report (DCL/18/39), questions from the committee and representations by the applicant, and following an adjournment for discussion in confidence by the Committee, the Committee made the following decisions:
Proposed by Councillor Russell Tillson Seconded by Councillor Alan Ewart-James and
Resolved: 1. To receive and note Report DCL/18/39. 2. To agree unanimously to revoke the applicant’s Hackney Carriage Licence because he is not a fit and proper person to be a taxi driver. The Committee would not be happy to have any member of their respective families travelling alone in a car with the applicant as a driver. The applicant was told he has the right to appeal within the statutory time limit and was advised that if he elected to do so he should obtain independent legal advice.
