Purpose:

Fifth Continent film making programme - Screen South is providing the film making programme for the ‘Fifth Continent Landscape Partnership Scheme’ Project run by Kent Wildlife Trust.  We will be working across the whole of the Romney Marsh over the next three years, training residents in film making, including animation, so that they have the skills to make their own films about the Romney Marsh.  Screen South will be running a series of community film making workshops at the end of July 2018 which we hope to base in New Romney and Lydd.

Decision:

DECISION:

To provide funding of £200 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

This opportunity is open to all ages where residents can develop production of a wide variety of films on topics such as the heritage of the Marsh, landscape, flora and fauna, or capturing stories from people of all communities who live on the Marsh.  The films can be in any genre and will then be made available online.

Future plans are for skills workshops to develop 10 to 12 short films per year which will create a film making legacy and due to our work on other projects, be able to signpost further opportunities to participants.
