Decision details

The Bank Youth Club - an open youth club based in Hawkinge community centre. We

have been running for 5 years and are well established, we run various activities for

young people and provide a safe space for them to reach their full Potential, the

group incorporates a high level of support as we have at least 7 young people with

learning Disabilities attend, we provide competitions to stretch the young peoples

ability’s and this has lead onto young people forming a youth council to help improve

the local community.

DECISION:

To provide funding of £966 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

The young people, their parents all support the project as does The Hawkinge town

council, the KCC community warden, the local police and councillors with the district

council. We are the only youth club in Hawkinge that provide support for young

people with additional needs, fostered children because of the wealth of the

volunteers we have. The young people love the group and are very supportive for us

to continue the work we have started.
