Returning to Scouting – A grant to purchase an event shelter with side walls and a portable flag pole, enabling scouting activities to commence. 

To provide funding of £400 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

Local young people have had a difficult year and have missed out on many social activities.  Many children are struggling with their mental wellbeing.  The offer to return to safe outdoor scouting activities by purchasing an event shelter which could also be used in adverse weather.  Being able to return to scouting would give the young people in the St Marys Bay community an opportunity to resume an aspect of ‘normality’ and structure in their lives as well as having some fun activities and socialising with their friends in a safe, organised and risk assessed way.
