The Channel Traithlon - Preparation for the Triathlon infrastructure. An expensive up-front cost.

To provide funding of £250 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

Channel Rotary normally spends approximately £20k into the local community annually. Also works with the other local Rotary clubs to support youth, young carers, school hardship funds, the homeless, Food Bank and many other local causes. Last financial year up to 40 beneficiaries. The Channel Tri is an important

fundraising event for those causes as well as enabling others to raise sponsorship for their own causes The Beacon School is one such example this year. In 2020 the Tri donated £3k each to Shepway Sports Trust mental health project and MIND as well as supporting Folkestone Rescue and Rowing Club. It also promotes fitness and health offering training through GO TRI in 2021.
