Bowling green restoration - Replacement of equipment and purchase of products to restore the green to a good playing surface.

To provide funding of £500 to the above project.

Reason for decision:

Sellindge bowls club was hit hard by the restriction on playing caused by covid 19. The club has two main sources of income: Member subscriptions and fees from matches. There were no matches with visiting clubs and thus no income from that source. The use of the green was very limited last year so some the bowls club members did not join, also limiting income.

There were uncontrolled costs to the club such as essential maintenance, rent and insurance that still had to be paid. Consequently, less was spent on maintenance of the playing surface and our modest reserves have been depleted.
