Councillor Belinda Walker declared a voluntary announcement in respect of application -  Flats A and B, 43 Earl's Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2HB, as her interest arose to be a resident in the same street. She remained in the meeting during discussion and voting on this item.

 

Councillor Paul Thomas declared a voluntary announcement in respect of application - High Meadow, Sandling Road, Saltwood, Hythe, Kent CT21 4QJ, as his interest arose due to being known to the agent through work in his capacity as a New Romney Town Councillor. He remained in the meeting during discussion and voting on this item.

The Planning Officer confirmed that proposed House 2 referenced at points 3.1 and 3.7 in the committee report should state that it would be a 4 bed dwelling and not a 3 bed dwelling.

 

Helen Derry, local resident spoke against the application.

 

Neil Matthews, representative of Saltwood Parish Council, spoke against the application.

 

Matthew Whitby, agent, spoke in support of the application.

 

The Chief Planning Officer acknowledged that the committee report incorrectly stated that 2 letters of objection were received instead of 12 and confirmed all issues raised had been considered.

Resolved:

That planning permission be granted subject to the conditions set out at the end of the report, together with a further condition to require details of the surface water drainage to be submitted and that delegated authority be given to the Chief Planning Officer to agree and finalise the wording of the condition and add any other conditions that he considers necessary.
