Decision type: Non-key

Decision status: For Determination

Notice of proposed decision first published: 02/11/2017

Exempt urgency notice

This item is subject to the exempt urgency procedure required by The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012. It is proposed to take a decision on an exempt issue, on the date shown on the title page of this Forward Plan. It would be impracticable to defer the decision until the publicity requirements for exempt decisions can be met. The Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has agreed that the taking of this decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred.

Reason for urgency:
To meet the end date, the Council would need to agree terms, procure the construction of a building through tendering and then build it which is expected to take some 20 months. In the meantime, unless we show some intent and open negotiations, the company will be looking to take up alternative options elsewhere.
