A range of support measures are in place to help our residents. These include council tax reduction, financial support and community hubs.

About planning consultations

The Strategy and Policy Team regularly undertakes consultations on the development of its Local Plan and other related policy documents.

We want to ensure that our plans are supported by residents, stakeholders, businesses and other members of the community as we recognise that planning affects everyone in some way. Therefore, it is important that people understand the planning process and are given the opportunity to get involved in it so that they can share their ideas and influence planning decisions.

Current Consultations

We have produced a Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy which sets out the district's strategic network of green (such as parks, gardens and allotments), and 'blue' infrastructure (such as the coast, rivers and canals) and provides an assessment of the needs and opportunities, strategic priorities and future actions.

The priorities and actions set out a broad ambition to improve green and blue infrastructure in Folkestone and Hythe district. Whilst some of these can be delivered by Folkestone and Hythe District Council, many will need to be delivered in partnership or by other organisations.

The purpose of this consultation is to identify which actions should be prioritised and to identify joint working opportunities with other organisations.

The consultation will start on 21 November 2022 and will run to 16 January 2023.

The quickest and easiest way to view and comment on the Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy is by using our online Consultation Portal.

Alternatively, you can send comments to us via one of the methods listed below, providing your name and contact details:

  • By emailing: planning.policy@folkestone-hythe.gov.uk
  • By letter addressed to: Strategy & Policy Team, Folkestone & Hythe District Council, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Ave, Folkestone, Kent CT20 2QY

Paper copies of the Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy consultation document will also be available to view at the Civic Centre and district libraries during normal opening hours.

The (LDS) sets out the council's programme for the production of its Local Plan and associated documents, providing an indication of when future consultations are likely to take place.  Local Development Scheme
