The Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026
The Information Sheet about the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 that landlords and their agents must give to tenants by 31 May 2026. This link contains the official Information Sheet that landlords and their agents must give to tenants. This guidance is designed to help private landlords and letting agents in England understand what they need to do.
The Information Sheet is a document produced by the government for tenants. It explains how their tenancy may be affected by the changes introduced by the Renters’ Rights Act 2025.
If you are a landlord and have a letting agent who manages the property on your behalf, then the agent must provide the Information Sheet to the tenant, even if you have also provided it.
You must give this Information Sheet if the tenancy:
- is an assured or assured shorthold tenancy
- was created before 1 May 2026
- has a wholly or partly written record of terms (including a written tenancy agreement)
You must give this Information Sheet by 31 May 2026, or you could be fined up to £7,000.

If your tenant is more than 8 weeks in arrears you can ask us to pay until the arrears fall under 8 weeks. To make this request you can email us. Please ensure that you include any relevant information to support the request.
We can only discuss a tenant's housing benefit with you if they have given us permission to do so. This can be done by completing this form: Sharing information with your landlord.
