Wellness and wellbeing events in the district

Residents in the district are able to get advice and support on a wide range of issues, from cost of living to physical and mental health, through the Wellness Events organised by Folkestone & Hythe District Council.

These completely free events provide residents with resources, support and opportunities to thrive in all aspects of living.

The events bring together a range of partner organisations including frontline Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust staff and Folkestone & Hythe Council officers, outreach organisations and charities, in one easy-to-access place.

There are a wide variety of services on offer and some of these include:

  • Free NHS health checks
  • NHS immunisation health and prevention advice (NHS COVID-19 and flu vaccines during autumn/winter), also NHS oral health advice
  • Food support, including advice on cooking healthy meals on a budget
  • Financial support, help and advice
  • Safety, housing and benefit advice from Folkestone & Hythe Council
  • Kent County Council Family Hubs support for children, young people and their families
  • Citizens Advice
  • Mental health support
  • Dementia support services, including Living with Dementia
  • Hi Kent support for people living with hearing loss
  • Alzheimer’s support
  • Support for drug or alcohol addictions

There will also be information on where and how to access local food banks along with community venues who offer free, pay as you feel or very reasonably priced meals in a social setting.

Since 2024, Folkestone & Hythe Wellness Events have helped hundreds of residents with wellbeing support and we hope to help many more.

If you’re an organisation that provides a wellbeing service or Cost of Living support to residents in the Folkestone & Hythe District and are interested in attending a future roadshow, please contact tara.liam@folkestone-hythe.gov.uk  for further information.
