In February 2025 councillors agreed a scheme to help community groups, charities, town and parish councils, schools and small businesses to bring forward ways of increasing climate resilience, reduce carbon footprints and enhance green spaces and local wildlife.
Four categories offered grants in categories of up to £1,000, £10,000, £15,000 and £20,000.
A panel of councillors selected 38 projects from a list of 60 applications to receive the funding.
