- How to dispose of
- Leaves create a natural mulch that can be used in beds and borders: they protect soil from erosion, help retain moisture, add nutrients as they decompose and provide habitat for insects, worms, and microorganisms. This is especially helpful under trees, hedges, and shrubs. A dedicated leaf pile could support: hedgehogs, frogs and toads, beetles and beneficial insects, overwintering butterflies and moths. Just stack leaves in a quiet corner of the garden. If you do need to dispose of them you can put the leaves in your garden waste bin or Household Waste and Recycling Centre
