- Cabinet agrees bid for central government's levelling up funding should be focussed on three of the six priority projects - the central station arrival and town centre connections; making a welcoming gateway into the town centre, including moving the bus station and creating a park in Bouverie Square and improvements around Sandgate Road and Guildhall Street.
April 2022
- Online survey (printed copies available on request) asking for views on the projects ran until Sunday 17 April.
- Webinar held on Wednesday 6 April giving information about six priority projects.
March 2022
- A public engagement event held on Thursday 31 March at 16 Bouverie Place (between the bus station and Folca). Drawings and information about six proposed projects for the town centre.
- Online focus group meetings held with key stakeholders addressing the themes of Connecting the Town Centre, Town Centre Improvements and Creative Quarter/Harbour Area Improvements. Plans for wider public engagement towards end of March.
January 2022
- Consultants appointed to further develop the six high priority actions identified in the Place Plan ahead of a bid application by F&HDC to the government's Levelling Up Fund (LUF)

- - The final draft of the Folkestone Town Centre Place Plan is approved by Cabinet. Members also approved the submission of an application to the government's Levelling Up Fund.
