Some people sleep rough sleep on the streets or elsewhere outside as they do not have access to any temporary or permanent accommodation. Rough sleeping is the most serious form of homelessness and if you are concerned about a person sleeping rough there is a range of places you can refer them to.
Streetlink: StreetLink is the national referral agency for reporting rough sleepers. Sending a referral via Streetlink will automatically trigger an alert to outreach services to check on the welfare of the person rough sleeping and to offer them support and advice.

If someone is unwell or distressed, call 999. Do not put yourself in danger or approach someone acting strangely.
