Nestled against the Coastal Park at Lower Sandgate Road, Folkestone are 115 beach huts. The council redeveloped the area in 2020 which included the refurbishment of 35 of the existing huts and installation of 80 new wooden ones.
We also improved the surrounding area, including repairing retaining walls and replacing ramps and steps.
There are 65 large huts approximately 3m x 3m (wooden and concrete) and 55 Small huts approximately 1.8 x 1.8 (all wooden huts).
Hythe beach huts
The council has a number of concrete beach huts located on Marine Parade, Hythe, to the front of the swimming pool.
Can I lease a hut?
The huts are currently all leased. Due to popular demand, the waiting list for these huts is currently closed and we are unable to consider any further requests at this time.
