A new beachside destination at Greatstone is to be known as the Changing Tides Coastal Centre when it opens this year.

Folkestone & Hythe District Council is delivering a café, water sports facilities and 93 beach huts at the new Coast Drive attraction. There will also be public toilets and a remodelled car park with electric charging stations.

With work due to be completed imminently and excitement growing, the new name reflects the project’s aim to enhance the area as a vibrant seaside spot for locals and visitors.

Cllr Connor McConville, Cabinet Member for Assets and Local Government Reorganisation, said: “Changing Tides Coastal Centre will be a new destination for recreation, tourism and economic growth on Romney Marsh.

“Everything is really starting to take shape now and we believe this project will complement other offerings elsewhere in the district, such as the successful Folkestone Harbour Arm.”

Those interested in operating the café are now being invited to register their interest through Motis Estates. Viewings are strictly by appointment.

The beach huts waiting list remains open. Visit the council’s website for more information about availability.
