Submission of CIL for Examination

The Council submitted the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Draft Charging Schedule for examination on the 24 November 2022.This follows the decision taken by Council on 20 July 2022 to authorise the Senior Planning Policy Specialist in consultation with the Leader of the Council to submit the Draft CIL Charging Schedule for examination.

02.02.2023 – The Council issued a copy of the updated CIL Viability report prepared by Gerald Eve on behalf of the Council

30.01.2023 – The Council provided a copy of the draft Infrastructure Funding Statement for 2022, and associated Infrastructure Schedule

27.01.2023 – the Examiner requested to be provided with a copy of the draft Infrastructure Funding Statement for 2022

20.01.2023 - The Council provided responses to the outstanding Examiner's initial questions (EQ1), in respect of points 3 to 9 respectively. The responses prompted very minor edits to the CIL Charging Schedule that is proposed to be adopted by the Council, as initially provided on 11.01.2023

11.01.2023 – The Council provided responses to the Examiner's initial questions (EQ1), in respect of points 2 and 10. In responding to Q2 the Council provided a copy of the Charging Schedule that the Council intends to bring into effect on the assumption that the examination concludes that there is no need for any amendment. In responding to Q10 the Council concurred with the Examiner that it would be more straightforward for Table 2 of the revised CIL Charging Schedule to include the heading ‘Retail Development’. 

10.01.2023 – The Council provided a response to the Examiner's initial questions (EQ1), in respect of point 1, and provided a copy of the full first Charging Schedule (dated June 2016) that came into effect in August 2016.
