Police and Crime Commissioner changes

The way in which you vote for a Police and Crime Commissioner has changed

The voting system at Police and Crime Commissioner elections in England now uses the first past the post system.

This means that voters at these elections will choose a single candidate on the ballot paper.  This is the same system that is used at UK Parliamentary elections.

History

Previously, voters used the Supplementary Vote System which required a 1st and 2nd choice vote.
