The Folkestone – A Brighter Future scheme is more than a third complete with works planned to finish in Summer 2026.
Any regeneration project of this scale will inevitably cause disruption, and we are grateful to residents and businesses for bearing with us as we shape Folkestone town centre into a safer, greener and more welcoming place to spend time. Full details of the scheme are available on our dedicated FABF pages where you can also sign up for a newsletter from our contractors Jackson Civil Engineering for monthly updates.
Below is a summary of the most recent project changes:
The roadworks that suspended the F3 bus stop have now finished and this stop is once more operational. The F6 bus stop has now been temporarily moved to directly outside Lidl and will remain at this stop until May 2026 while works are ongoing nearby.
The latest changes to Stagecoach services in Folkestone can be found on the Stagecoach website.
The road at Cheriton gardens will be closed at the intersection with Bouverie West eastbound from 26 November until 17 December while carriageway works are underway. These works include the construction of a raised tabletop crossing which will create a safer environment for road users and pedestrians. Project contractors Jackson Civil Engineering have given residents advance notice of this road closure via letter and the associated traffic management plans are available on our website here: Phase 3 | Project progress | Folkestone & Hythe District Council
