Paws for thought community day
On Sunday, 8 June, Radnor Park in Folkestone hosted the first-ever Paws for Thought Community Event, drawing a strong turnout of dog owners and enthusiasts. Attendees enjoyed pleasant weather, narrowly avoiding the rain that had threatened the day.
The event featured a well-organised dog show, including a Best Trick competition where dogs impressed the crowd with a variety of skills and behaviours.
Skelleywags Dog Trainers were among the stallholders, showcasing the benefits of scentwork through a trial scent course that engaged dogs in foraging for treats.
The event was co-organised by the Folkestone branch of the RSPCA, alongside local stallholders who supported the day’s activities. Organisers welcomed the enthusiastic participation of dogs and their owners, who helped bring the event to life.
Visitors also had the opportunity to speak with organisers about proposed changes to dog control measures in the district, adding a valuable community engagement element to the day.
