Step 1 - English screening assessment
You must first book and pass the English screening assessment:

You need to complete and pass the English screening assessment before you book your knowledge test.
Step 2 - Knowledge test
For a private hire drivers licence you must sit the private hire knowledge test and for a dual drivers licence you must sit the hackney knowledge test. You will need to pay for the test when you book. Knowledge tests are held at the Civic Centre.
When you come for your knowledge test appointment you need to bring your English Screening Assessment certificate with you so that it can be scanned. If you fail to bring your certificate you will not be allowed to sit the test, and will need to re-book and pay the fee again. You will also need to bring with you your passport and driving licence.
