Applying for a new driver licence
You will need to:
- log into your MyAccount
- complete the application form
- upload evidence of the following:
- knowledge test
- photograph
- UK or EU/EEA driving licence and DVLA check
- Medical form
- Driver assessment course
- Safeguarding course
- Right to work
- Enhanced DBS
- pay the appropriate fee

What happens next
Once we receive your application, all the required supporting information and the payment, we will decide if you are a ‘fit and proper’ person to hold a licence. Any delay providing the information or making payment will delay the processing of your application.
Please note that if you submit an application but do not meet the criteria of a 'fit and proper person' to be a taxi driver, your application may be refused and you are unlikely to receive a refund.
If your application is successful you will receive an email when your badge is ready to be collected. Do not try to collect your badge until you have received this email. Please allow 10 working days for you application to be processed.
