Ways to get involved

Tenant scrutiny panel

The Scrutiny Panel is in place to delve deeper into specific subjects that STAP do not have the time or resources to cover. The panel was formed in September 2023 at the request of STAP, and it is another strategic-level group made up of tenants from across the district.

They carry out in-depth reviews of areas of the housing service, deciding for themselves which areas they wish to examine. They drill down to operational level on their chosen subjects, and have full access to the relevant officers and any resources and information they need to help them determine their recommendations.

Each review concludes with a report showing the strengths and weaknesses of the service area reviewed, together with the panel’s recommendations for improvements and how these link back to the Regulator of Social Housing’s consumer standards and tenant satisfaction measures.

So far, the panel have completed three reviews: complaints management, anti-social behaviour and tenant communications, and they have a forward plan for the coming year.
