Independent Living Forum (ILF)
The ILF has been running for many years and is solely focused on the residents and officers involved in the Independent Living service. There are Independent Living schemes right the way across the district from Lydd to Lyminge. Each scheme nominates 2 representatives who collect any points to raise from their schemes to bring to the meetings. Meetings are attended by council officers and our contractors, such as Mears and Sureserve, so that answers and further details can be sought immediately.

An ILF meeting in progress
We are currently recruiting for new ILF members! Representatives are needed from:
- Churchill Court, Hythe: 1 rep
- Halliday Court, Hythe: 1 rep
- Middelburg House, Cheriton: 2 reps
- Mittell Court, Lydd: 1 rep
- Nailbourne Court, Lyminge: 1 rep
- Philippa House, Folkestone: 1 rep
- Romney Marsh House, Dymchurch: 1 rep
- Win Pine House, Hythe: 1 rep
Travel to and from the meetings can be arranged by the council, and we will also reimburse any reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result of attending meetings.
Meetings take place every three months, usually on a Monday morning, and last around 2 hours, with each meeting being held at a different Independent Living scheme. The only thing we ask of representatives is that they gather any issues from their schemes to bring to the forum, and then to feedback any news at their scheme meetings, in partnership with their Independent Living Officer.
